How to find?
Eyrarkot is by road no. 47
From Reykjavík: leave Reykjavík heading towards Akureyri on main ring road no. 1. About 15 km after you leave Reykjavík you come to the village of Mosfellsbær and when you have passed it then you need to continue about 20 km on road no. 1 before turning right into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47). After about 8 km you see Eyrarkot on your right.
From Borgarnes - two choices:
A) via the tunnel of Hvalfjörður (road toll ISK 1000,-).
Leaving Borgarnes heading towards Reykjavík on main ring road no. 1. As you leave Borgarnes you continue about 43 km on road no. 1 before turning left (after the tunnel) into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47). After about 8 km you see Eyrarkot on your right.
B) via the Hvalfjörður fjord.
Leaving Borgarnes heading towards Reykjavík on main ring road no. 1. As you leave Borgarnes you continue about 20 km on road no. 1 before turning left into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47). You continue on this road along the fjord and after some 54 km you see Eyrarkot on your left.
