How to find?              
Stóra-Giljá is by road no. 1
 
From Borgarnes: as you leave village Borgarnes, direction Akureyri on road no. 1 then you come to a traffic circle. Take the exit into road no. 1 in direction of Akureyri. You need to drive for about 156 km on road no. 1 (passing the heath Holtavörðuheiði) before you come to farm Stóra-Giljá on your left (11 km before arriving in village Blönduós).
 
From Akureyri: You leave Akureyri on road no. 1, direction Reykjavík.  Stay on road no. 1 for about 160 km (passing through the villages Varmhlíð and Blönduós) before you come to farm Stóra-Giljá on your right (about 11 km after leaving village Blönduós).
