Apartment in the attic of the old house of Kaupfélag Svalbarðseyrar (retailer's co-operation) built in 1900, which was moved to the lot of the Safnasafnið in the year 2006.

Safnasafnið - The Icelandic Folk and Outsider Art Museum - has an 67 m2 apartment. It has a separate entrance and is not connected to or involved in the daily function of the museum. It has features from its original construction and interior with some additional contemporary design. The apartment consists of an entrance hall, bathroom, kitchen with 1 bed (200x120), a conjoined dining room and office with two single beds (196x886 / 172x75) and another room with a double bed and two smaller single beds (160x75 / 95x45)

The environment is wooded and there is a lake alongside the house. The park has two barbecues, tables and benches.

The Icelandic Folk and Outsider Art Museum
Safnasafnið is one of Iceland’s most important art museums and the only one collecting folk and outsider art. At present it stores approximately 4,100 works. The museum has an extensive exhibition area, a library and research facilities, as well as accommodation for tourists, visiting artists and scholars.
The museum presents its collection of folk and outsider art together with progressive modern art without discrimination - quality and sincerity being the only guidelines. In this way the museum has earned for itself a rather special place on the Icelandic art scene. Guests staying in the apartment have free access to the museum.
