The Gunnarshólmi Guesthouse is very well located and suits both those who prefer to stay in the country and those who intend to visit the capital, the city center is merely 15 km away.

The house has 6 double rooms, 2 bathrooms with showers and washing machines, kitchen with all necessary utensils, and a living room with a TV and DVD player. Extra beds and baby cots available. Outside porch has a large hot pot.

The Blue Mountains skiing area is approx. 20 km from the guesthouse.

Fishing trout and salmon is an option during summer in the river Hólmsá which runs by the farm, fishing permits for sale and fish poles for rent for guests.

Gunnarshólmi also offers tailor-made super-jeep tours such as tours to the glacier, Westman Islands, Þórsmörk, Gullfoss & Geysir, all depending on the clients‘ wishes.

Gunnarshólmi is a horse farm and they plan to open a horse rental next summer.

How to find?
Elliðahvammur is by road no. 1

From Keflavík International airport: Leave the terminal heading for  Reykjavík. After only 1 km you arrive at a traffic circle where you turn towards Reykjavík into the Reykjanesbraut (road no. 41). After about 40 km you arrive in the city Hafnarfjörður where you need to turn right at an intersection in order to keep going on the Reykjarnesbraut about 10 km more. Then you turn right into Breiðholtsbraut (road no 413), continue for about 4,5 km. Take the first exit at the roundabout to Suðurlandsvegur (road no.1), drive for about 1 km until you reach another roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout and continue on Suðurlandsvegur (road no. 1). After about 4,5 km you will find Gunnarshólmi on your left.

From City hall in Reykjavík center: Turn to the street Suðurgata (along a graveyard) and turn left into it and soon you will come to a traffic circle and you need to take the last exit into Hringbraut.  Drive along Hringbraut for about 2 km continue straight as it changes name to Miklabraut (road no. 49). Continue for about 4 km, and continue straight as it changes name to Vesturlandsvegur for about 3 km. Turn right towards Suðurlandsvegur (road no.1) driver for about 2 km until you reach a roundabout, take the second exit and continue straight on  Suðurlandsvegur. Drive for about 1 km until you reach another roundabout, take the second exit at the roundabout and continue on Suðurlandsvegur. After about 4,5 km you will find Gunnarshólmi on your left.

From Selfoss: You leave Selfoss crossing the bridge heading on the main road no. 1 towards Reykjavík. After about 40 km you arrive at the outskirt of Reykjavík, you will find Gunnarshólmi on your right.
